Channel Estimation for RIS-Aided mmWave Massive MIMO System Using Few-Bit ADCs

Millimeter wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (massive MIMO) is one of the most promising technologies for fifth generation and beyond wireless communication system. However, a large number antennas incur high power consumption hardware costs, high-frequency communications place heavy burden on analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) at base station (BS). Furthermore, it too costly to equipping each antenna with high-precision ADC in array It adopt low-resolution ADCs address this problem. In letter, we investigate cascaded channel estimation mmWave MIMO system aided by reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) BS equipped few-bit ADCs. Due low-rank property channel, can be formulated as matrix completion We introduce Bayesian optimal inference framework tackle information loss caused quantization.
